Virtual Interconnection Point between Belgium and Germany

NieuwsFollowing the planned unified German market, foreseen to be launched on October 1st 2021, Belgian and German transmission operators are working together to implement a new Virtual Interconnection Point (VIP) between Belgium and Germany. This new VIP will merge the existing “Eynatten1-Eynatten” and “Eynatten2-VIP Belgium NCG” into one single Virtual Interconnection Point named “ VIP THE-ZTP”.
The aim is to launch the new VIP at the same time as the unified German Market, however this is not yet confirmed and might happen at a later stage.
