Updated multi-energy scenarios published by Fluxys and Elia following public consultation
Elia and Fluxys are pleased to announce the publication of the newly updated scenarios to prepare the federal investment plans of the electricity and hydrogen transmission networks.
Following a comprehensive public consultation held from 18 July to 12 September 2025, during which both organisations consulted a wide range of stakeholders, all feedback submitted during the plenary workshops and throughout the consultation period has been carefully reviewed. Elia and Fluxys sincerely thank everyone who contributed their insights and suggestions, helping to further refine and strengthen the scenarios to reflect the needs and expectations of the energy sector and the wider community.
In accordance with the Royal Decree of 12 May 2024, the scenarios were submitted to Minister Bihet, the General Directorate of Energy of the Federal Public Service Economy, and the Federal Planning Bureau. Following the authorities’ review and the positions received from Minister Bihet, the scenarios have now been updated to integrate this guidance. These updated scenarios were introduced during the online session of 5 February 2026, and the revised versions reflecting the Minister’s opinion are now available for download on the Fluxys website.
Elia and Fluxys invite all interested parties to consult the published scenarios and supporting documentation, which provide a detailed overview of the modifications made in response to stakeholder input and the federal authorities’ assessments. Both organisations reaffirm their commitment to transparency, dialogue, and collaboration as they continue working towards a resilient and sustainable energy future.
