Fuel gas: Fluxys TENP continues to count on biogas

NewsFluxys TENP GmbH maintains its proven strategy and once again covers part of its fuel gas requirements with biogas. This is the result of a tender concluded on 18 October 2022. The gas will be supplied for the period from 01 January 2023 to 01 July 2023. For the past first half of the year 2021 and the year 2022, Fluxys TENP had already successfully procured biogas for the operation of the compressors on the TENP pipeline.
By using biogas, Fluxys TENP promotes the diversification and decarbonisation of gas supply. As a natural product and renewable energy source, biogas emits less CO2 compared to methane and therefore contributes to the achievement of climate protection targets. In addition to biogas and biomethane, other green and renewable gases such as hydrogen or synthetic methane are also becoming increasingly important. Thus, the existing gas infrastructure helps to successfully implement the energy transition.
