Expanding our CO₂ network

With a CO₂ pipeline already under construction and a planned export project, Fluxys c‑grid Antwerp aims to offer local industry a reliable route to export captured CO₂ while ensuring integration with the wider Belgian and European CO₂ network.

Our roadmap, drawn up in coordination with our partners, includes international interconnections and access to permanent storage sites in the North Sea, meaning that emitters can effectively meet their decarbonisation targets. In cooperation with the competent authorities, work is now continuing on the development of customer-oriented services at an affordable price and support mechanisms to enable the market to start up with reasonable investment risks.

In line with needs

We are developing transmission infrastructure for CO₂ aligned with the needs of Antwerp’s industrial cluster and regional, national and European initiatives aimed at strengthening the energy market and accelerating the energy transition.

Structural industrial decarbonisation

By anchoring Antwerp into a future interoperable CO₂ network with cross-border connections, we help lay the foundation for structural industrial decarbonisation benefitting from Belgium’s strategic position within an integrated European CO₂ transmission system.
