On June 24th, the Council of the European Union adopted a 14th sanctions package against Russia. Fluxys LNG, the Zeebrugge terminal operator, 100% subsidiary of the listed company Fluxys Belgium, has adapted its operational rules to be fully compliant with the adopted sanctions which will be applicable to the existing contracts as from March 26 2025.

GASCADE and Fluxys have applied to the European Commission for Project of Common Interest (PCI) status for the AquaDuctus project, marking a major step forward in their plans for an offshore pipeline for green hydrogen in the North Sea. The move by the two infrastructure operators highlights the project's importance for the hydrogen ramp-up.

In the context of the State Visit of Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg to the Kingdom of Belgium, the CEOs of Fluxys Belgium and Creos Luxembourg have signed a Letter of Intent on the future cooperation in the field of hydrogen infrastructure.
Infrastructure partner Fluxys Belgium today unveiled its BE-HyStore pilot project to store hydrogen in the underground in Loenhout, at an event attended by Federal Minister of the Economy and Employment Pierre-Yves Dermagne and Federal Minister of Energy Tinne Van der Straeten. With 40 years of expertise in underground natural gas storage, Fluxys is now testing the possibilities of storing hydrogen in an underground aquifer.
On 8 December 2022 the EU Commission has announced it will grant Fluxys Belgium, North Sea Port and ArcelorMittal Belgium €9,6 million under the Connecting Europe Facility for Energy (CEF-E) funding program. The funding is earmarked for the study of the Ghent Carbon Hub project, an open-access multi modal CO₂ storage and liquefaction terminal in North Sea Port combined with a CO₂ pipeline network connecting the Walloon region to the hub in Ghent.
In accordance with the decree on the transport of carbon dioxide via pipelines in the Flemish Region of 29 March 2024, the Flemish Council of Ministers appointed Fluxys c-grid as the operator responsible for the development and management of a CO₂ transport network in Flanders, following a proposal by Flemish Minister for Energy Melissa Depraetere.

The French and Belgian energy infrastructure companies, GRTgaz and Fluxys hydrogen, a subsidiary of Fluxys Belgium, announce the launch of a market call to assess the needs and economic interest for the creation of an ‘open acces’ hydrogen transport infrastructure between France and Belgium.
The hydrogen network operators Creos Luxembourg Hydrogen, Fluxys hydrogen and NaTran (formerly GRTgaz) today announce that HY4Link, their joint cross-border hydrogen transport infrastructure initiative, has been granted Project of Common Interest (PCI) status by the European Commission, a significant milestone in the development of the project and for the Greater Region.
The EU Commission announced it will grant Air Liquide, Fluxys Belgium and Port of Antwerp-Bruges €144.6 million under the Connecting Europe Facility for Energy (CEF-E) funding program. The funding is earmarked for the construction of shared CO₂ transport and export facilities on the Antwerp port platform. TAP shareholders Fluxys and Enagás have jointly agreed to purchase co-shareholder Axpo’s 5% stake in the pipeline. Fluxys will acquire 1% and Spain’s Enagás 4% of Axpo’s stake. In the context of the State Visit of Their Majesties the King and the Queen of the Belgians to Germany, the CEO’s of Fluxys, OGE and Wintershall Dea have signed a cooperation agreement for CO₂ transport. The three companies plan to build a cross-border pipeline to transport carbon dioxide with the objective to support the further decarbonisation of otherwise “hard to abate” industries in Germany.
Regional cluster organizations WaterstofNet and Cluster Tweed today launched the Belgian Hydrogen Council (BHC) to consolidate and strengthen Belgium’s position in Europe and on the global stage as a pioneering hub of excellence for clean hydrogen. The eight CEOs who make up the Board of the Council met for the first time today in Brussels.
