Pipeline Inspection Procedure October 2023

News

INT is legally required by the Health and Safety Executive to carry out a Pipeline Inspection; the procedure comprises sending pipeline inspection gauges through the Interconnector Pipeline to examine the condition of the asset.

This has been deferred from 2022 until October 2023 to accommodate the sustained high flows to the Continent to contribute to the filling of storage and Security of Supply following the war in Ukraine.

For operational reasons, and in order to accurately collect data, the pipeline inspection gauges need to pass through the pipeline at a steady rate. Acting as a Reasonable and Prudent Operator, INT has today launched a Request for Participation to secure confirmation that the Minimum Flow Rate can be achieved on the Gas Days where a Pipeline Inspection will take place.

INT has published a letter here explaining the Pipeline Inspection Procedure.

INT Shippers wishing to partake in ensuring this maintenance can be carried out efficiently may request a copy of the ‘Request for Participation’ Tender from the INT Commercial Team.

All confirmations of participation should be sent to operations@interconnector.com by 13:00 CET 09 May 2023.

For further information please contact the INT Commercial Team.
