04.12.2019Looking for an opportunity to unload your LNG carrier in the coming weeks ?
02.12.2019Activity continues to buzz at the Zeebrugge LNG terminal: no fewer than 16 ships are expected to moor in the first 20 days of December.
Two possible forms:
- Ship-To-Ship (Zeebrugge)
Faster, no need to pass through a storage tank, LNG is directly transferred from one LNG ship to another.
- Ship-Storage-Ship (Zeebrugge & Dunkirk)
LNG is unloaded from a LNG ship, then stored in a tank at the terminal. It can be loaded a few days later by another LNG ship.

Good to know
Boil-off gas : A quantity of LNG evaporates during transshipment, as it does during any operation. This gaseous quantity is then collected and pressurized, meaning that this LNG is not lost. The natural gas is not liquefied and so will be reinjected onto the natural gas grid in gaseous form. There are no atmospheric emissions.
As a result, 98,7% of a cargo can be transshipped and 1,3%* evaporates and is injected in gaseous form onto the natural gas grid. This 2% can be valued at the European natural gas market price.
*0,75 GWh/h for 20 hours for the transshipment of 160,000 m³ of LNG.
