Fluxys Belgium: Launch of a New Auction Window for Remaining SBUs 2026-2027 from 06 July to 07 September
Following the last Storage Auctions organized for the remaining Golden SBUs for Storage Year 2026-2027, during which the remaining storage capacity for the Storage Year 2026–2027 was offered but not entirely allocated, and in light of the continued need to fill European storage facilities ahead of winter, particularly given recent geopolitical developments, Fluxys Belgium is launching a two-month auction window for its remaining Golden SBUs for Storage Year 2026-2027 from 06 July to 07 September.
As a reminder, a golden Standard Bundled Unit (SBU) is a storage bundle with the following characteristics:
How will it work?
Fluxys Belgium is launching a two-month Auction Window, during which an auction may be organized whenever market conditions are deemed favourable by the storage operator.
Whenever Fluxys Belgium decides to organize an auction within the Auction Window, a dedicated market communication will be sent per email to all SSA registered clients at least three (3) working days before the auction date.
For each auction announcement, Fluxys will publish the relevant auction details in the dedicated section of the relevant webpage. These details will include the Auction Date and Time, Products Offered, Service Period, Maximum Bid Quantity, Allocation Mechanism, Starting Price, Major and Minor Price Increments, and the Duration of Each Auction Round. This section will be updated accordingly whenever a new auction is announced.
Participation in the Auction Window requires a one-time registration process for the full Window period. Once admitted, participants will be eligible to take part in any auction organized during the full window period without being obliged to take part to it. Clients can register at any time during the auction window at least 2 BD before the auction.
For the avoidance of doubt, admission to the Auction Window does not entail any obligation to participate in, or submit bids, during any individual auction.
The Terms and Conditions for Storage Auctions (TCSA), version April 2026 will be applicable to each auction and will remain unchanged throughout the entire duration of the Auction Window.
How can you take part in the auction window?
In order to take part in this auction, you must acknowledge the Terms & Conditions and provide us with the following documents at least 2 Business Days before an auction takes place via info.storage@fluxys.com.
- Which bidder will represent your company in which auction, note that only this (principal) Bidder will be accepted to take part in such auction
- If you have not signed the current version of the Power of Attorney or if you wish to add a new Bidder for your company which is not yet registered, the Power of Attorney (see schedule 1 in Terms & Conditions). This includes evidence that the person signing the document is authorized to represent the company; and
- Proof that the signatories of the Power of Attorney have the power to act on behalf of the Participant
Note that in order to take part in this Auction Window, you need to have signed a Standard Storage Agreement (SSA).
Storage Clients who participated in the April, May, or June SBU auctions do not need to register again for this subscription window to participate in any auction held within the two-month period. A new registration as detailed hereabove is only required if they wish to designate a different bidder to represent them in future auctions.
One Business day prior to the auction, Fluxys Belgium will confirm to each participant the admission to the auction and send his login for the Auction Website.
