Commercial Analyst

The role is full time and permanent and is based at our office in Central London with hybrid working available.

Job Responsibilities

Working within the Commercial team, the Commercial Analyst is responsible for informing, training and advising INT’s customers of the company’s commercial offering.

Key aspects of the role

Customer Relationship

You will be customer facing in this role, attending new customer meetings, helping to increase contact with the market to gain a greater understanding of new and existing customer requirements and ensuring that products are offered via the appropriate sales channels specifically offered to the market via appropriate sales channels specifically PRISMA and Implicit Allocation or other sales channels as applicable You will also aid the on-going development and utilisation of a process/system to track information about and interactions with customers and potential customers (via a CRM tool)

Service Development, Marketing

  • Support the identification, evaluation and development of new services
  • Support the negotiation and implementation of service improvements with the market and regulatory stakeholders
  • Cooperate with the Business Intelligence and Marketing team to analyse the market environment (e.g. route costs, price setting, competitive position) and other approaches to identify value and sales opportunities

Sales reporting and external communication

  • Sales reporting (internal/external)
  • Update the website to be more customer focussed and ensure all commercial-related information is made available, up to date and relevant to Shippers needs
  • Produce media releases and newsletters for Shippers and potential Shippers

Engage with the industry, regulatory authorities and neighbouring TSOs

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of INT’s commercial and regulatory model including the Network Codes and applicable rules
  • Support implementation of new Network Code requirements including discussions with National Grid and Fluxys Belgium as adjacent TSOs
  • Attend relevant National Grid or Fluxys workshops and report back on any items of interest to INT
  • Input to any consultation documentation and procedures and subsequent review and analysing results
  • Monitor changes to regulation, such as those occurring under REMIT, produce relevant documentation, implement improvements or new procedures if required

Qualifications and experience required

  • Graduate. A degree with an analytical focus would be preferable
  • Commercial and/or operational experience in the energy industry (gas industry preferred)
  • Able to communicate effectively with people at all levels (internally and externally) of an organisation
  • Excellent report writing, verbal and presentational skills
  • High level of numeracy and analytical skills – able to review, analyse and report on data and information of varying complexity
  • Excellent standard of computer literacy, particularly use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
