NEL & EUGAL
Supply backbones into Germany and Europe
The North European Gas Pipeline (NEL) and the European Gas Pipeline Link (EUGAL) under construction accommodate downstream gas flows from the Nord Stream pipelines bringing Russian natural gas through the Baltic Sea to Europe. They allow additional volumes of gas from Siberia to be shipped into Germany and through their interconnections unlock these volumes for the surrounding markets as well.
NEL Facts & Figures
The NEL pipeline runs from Lubmin near Greifswald in the Northeast of Germany in Southwest direction to Rehden in Lower Saxony. The pipeline has inter alia a link to the NETRA pipeline in Achim serving as an interconnection point between the Gaspool and NCG market areas.
Partners in the NEL pipeline are NEL Gastransport GmbH (51%), Gasunie Deutschland (25.13%) and Fluxys Deutschland GmbH (23.87%). NEL Gastransport GmbH is the technical operator of the NEL pipeline.

EUGAL Facts & Figures
The EUGAL pipeline under construction will run from Lubmin near Greifswald in the Notheast of Germany in South direction to the Czech border at Deutschneudorf, linking into the Net4Gas network. EUGAL will also link directly into the German gas transmission grid via the NEL, JAGAL and NETRA pipelines. Natural gas is expected to start flowing through the first string of EUGAL at the end of 2019.
Partners in the EUGAL pipeline are Gascade Gastransport GmbH (50.5%), Fluxys Deutschland GmbH (16.5%), Gasunie Deutschland (16.5%) and Ontras Gastransport GmbH (16.5%). Gascade Gastransport GmbH manages construction of the EUGAL pipeline and is also the future technical operator.
