Fluxys to launch flexible short-term storage capacity

2010-06-17

As from 1 July 2010, Fluxys will offer flexible short-term storage capacity through the innovative virtual storage service. The new service enables system users to park or lend almost instantaneously natural gas in the Fluxys system in order to optimise their supplies to customers or transfers at the Zeebrugge Hub spot market.

High deliverability

The new virtual storage service offers system users additional short-term storage capacity with the advantage of high deliverability: they can park or lend the maximum level of natural gas they are entitled to within a timeframe of only 20 hours.

Easy to operate

System users will not need to bother with the technical aspects of the service. All operational and physical constraints and complexities are managed by Fluxys in order to allow market players to focus on the opportunities to optimize their supplies to customers or transfers at the Zeebrugge Hub spot market.

Monthly allocation process

The virtual storage service is primarily aimed at system users supplying H-gas to the Belgian market. The amount of virtual storage rights for subscribing shippers will be determined through a monthly allocation process taking into account their market shares and the capacities requested for. Any remaining virtual storage capacity will automatically be made available to the other system users on a first committed, first served basis.

Further details on the service are to be found in the Indicative Storage Programme 2010-2011 and the Virtual Storage Agreement available.

Tips for using search operators

Use "quotation marks" to search for a series of words or a phrase in a specific order.

Boolean operators

You can find a group of words or a phrase by using the link words AND, OR and NOT:
known as Boolean operators, these words are used to combine terms in the search field.

  • AND: All the search terms must be included in the publication. Typing in Apple AND Pear will return publications containing both the word Apple and the word Pear.

  • OR :  At least one of the search terms must be included in the publication. Typing in Apple OR Pear will return publications containing either the word Apple or the word Pear or both.

  • NOT: The term preceded by NOT must not be included in the publication. Typing in Apple NOT Pear will return publications containing the word Apple but not the word Pear.
