Truck accident at Auvelais: nearby Fluxys pipelines secured

2010-04-22

This morning at the Carrefour du Vitré junction in Auvelais a road subsidence caused a truck to slide down a working shaft for secure system works with Fluxys pipelines nearby. The fire service, police and a team from Fluxys are on site. The situation poses no immediate danger but streets within a 50-m radius of the incident have been closed off as a precaution.

Fluxys has emptied its pipelines of natural gas to enable the fire service to remove the truck from the shaft safely. The company would like to apologise for any noise caused by this emptying operation. As soon as the truck has been removed, Fluxys will ascertain whether any of its pipelines have been damaged and will then carry out any repair work required.
